Photographic Works

Layers of places and time

In my photographic work, I translate, abstract and re-imagine what I see and feel by using intentional camera movement (ICM) and multiple exposure (ME) techniques.

Multiple exposure means that several images are layered and blended into one image using different apps and techniques, both in camera and in post-processing. I love making images with my iPhone because it allows me to react very immediately and intuitively when inspiration comes to me and it offers many creative possibilities.

My art is above all about the energies of Nature and the landscape and about mindful, soulful moments in which I feel connected to these energies. I'm a wanderer and love roaming the countryside, getting to know places over time and observing the constant change in everything. Often these place don’t seem to be particularly beautiful at first sight, but taking pictures of them helps me to discover some of their wonders and stories. And it often also helps me to learn a bit more about my own stories and to be more mindful, more aware of the here and now. I think, basically, I use photography to connect with myself and the world and to process the energies that are passing through me. It’s quite a meditative process really.
